• June 11, 2009: Workflow site for the Center for Collaborative Genetic Studies on Mental Disorders (CGSMD) is launched. The site allows users to run computational workflows for population genomics using Wings and Pegasus. Wings assists the user to set up the workflows correctly according to semantic constraints, and Pegasus enables scalable distributed execution of workflows.
• March 3, 2009: Release of a collaborative to-do application for FaceBook. Users can organize to-dos hierarchically, share to-dos with their network of friends to get their suggestions, and export solutions once they have solved common to-dos.
• October 20, 2008: Release of a to-do application for FaceBook. We are collecting more data about the kinds of tasks that people do in the form of their to-dos for our Beamer project.
• July 13, 2008: Tutorial on Computational Workflows for Large-Scale AI Research at AAAI-08. The tutorial introduces computational workflows to AI researchers as a powerful paradigm they can use to manage large-scale experimentation, and presents interesting research problems for AI that arise in developing workflow systems.
• July, 2007: The Wings/Pegasus workflow system is used for large-scale earthquake simulations forseismic hazard analysis. To simulate a hundred thousand rupture variations, Wings automatically generated a workflow more than 8,000 computational steps and more than 2M triples of metadata for 100,000 files. This is a collaboration with the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC).
• January, 2006: Learner's knowledge repository makes the list of the 100 largest owl documents in the Semantic Web. This repository contains common knowledge collected from volunteer contributors. To date, more than 700,000 statements have been collected.
• July 2005: Learner is installed in a museum exhibit to collect common knowledge from museum goers. In collaboration with the Science Museum of Minnesota, Learner is being used to collect broad-coverage repositories of world knowledge from volunteer contributors.
